About Me

My name is Kim Klath and I am originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  I have a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in English Language Arts and a minor in Physical Education.

I started my teaching career in rural Saskatchewan and enjoyed teaching in a Grade 5/6 classroom for a while.  After I spent a few years teaching in the regular classroom, I found that I had an interest in Special Education.  At that point in my career I decided to pursue additional education in order to become a Certified Speical Education teacher in Saskatchewan.  After I received my Special Education credentials, I moved into the role of a Resource Room Teacher in a rural K-12 school setting in Saskatchewan .  I truly enjoyed the K-12 setting and the opportunities it provided me to interact with students of all ages.  After that rural post, I worked for Saskatoon Public School Division as a Resource Room Teacher and also as a Behaviour Classroom Teacher.

My husband and I moved to Fort McMurray in 2010.  I was excited to move to this bustling community and felt the need to experience life as an Oilsands employee working on site.  I worked for a contractor on the Syncrude Mildred Lake site as a part of the Safety department for that company.  It provided me with the opportunity to experience shift work, very early mornings and long drives to and from work.

After that, I landed at Westview and now Dr. Clark!  I enjoy coming to work everyday with my Dino family!

Now, the part you really want to know.... I love to travel and am looking forward to a trip to Dubai, UAE next month!  I make humour a huge part of my everyday life because I truly believe laughter is the best medicine.  Acting and involvement in Drama has always been a passion of mine.  I am looking forward to directing Westview's Musical Production of "The Trial of the Big, Bad Wolf" in April.  I believe spending time with family and friends is the key to a happy life.  That being said, Westview is the best place for me because I get to work with my Fort McMurray family and friends everyday!
